Queued

FAQ

Everything people ask before they sign up.

If yours isn't here, email us — a person answers, usually the one who built it.

Getting started

Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests scan a QR code, join from their phone's browser, and get a link to a live status page. There's nothing to install.
How long does it take to set up a queue?
A few minutes — name the queue, add your logo and colours, decide which form fields you need, and print the QR code. You can run a real shift the same day.
What kinds of businesses use Queued?
Restaurants, cafés and bars, clinics and walk-in surgeries, salons and barbershops, events and festivals, retail and pop-ups, and service desks — anywhere people wait to be seen without a booked time slot.
Can I run more than one queue?
Yes. Free covers one queue; Pro and Business support unlimited queues, useful for multiple sections, stylists, or locations.
Can staff add walk-ins manually?
Yes — from the live board, staff can add a party or ticket manually for guests who didn't scan the code themselves.
Does Queued replace my booking or reservation system?
No — Queued is built for walk-ins, not advance bookings. Most venues keep their existing booking system for reservations and run Queued alongside it for the walk-in list.

Guests

What does a guest actually see?
After joining, a guest sees their ticket number, position in the queue, and an estimated wait, on a page branded with your logo and colours. The page updates live as the queue moves.
Can a guest cancel their place in the queue?
Yes, if you allow it in your queue settings — a guest can cancel from their status page and free up their spot.
What happens if a guest doesn't show up when called?
After a grace window you set, the ticket is automatically marked as a no-show and the queue moves to the next party — no need for staff to track it manually.
Can guests see a menu or offers while they wait?
Yes — on Pro and Business plans, you can show a menu, adverts, links and an announcement on the guest's status page while they wait.
What information do you collect from guests?
Typically name, and email or phone, plus party size and any custom questions you add. You choose which fields are required in your queue settings.
What language does the guest page use?
English by default. Queue settings support a language field for future localisation; check current availability before relying on it for a specific market.

Notifications

How are guests notified when it's their turn?
By email, sent the moment staff call their ticket. The guest's status page also updates live, so anyone with it open sees the change immediately.
Do you support SMS notifications?
Email is the default and works for everyone. Check current plan details for SMS availability, as this depends on your region and plan.
Can I customise the notification messages?
Yes — the welcome message and the "it's your turn" message are both editable per queue, so you can match your own tone.
How often does the guest's status page update?
It polls for updates every few seconds and refreshes automatically, so a guest never needs to manually refresh to see their position change.

Branding

Can the guest page match our brand?
Yes — on Pro and Business, you can set your logo, colours, font and QR code style, so the page a guest lands on looks like your venue, not a generic template.
Does the free plan show Queued's branding?
Yes — the free plan shows a small Queued badge on the guest page. It's removed on Pro and Business.
Can I customise the QR code itself?
Yes — colours, corner style, and whether your logo appears in the centre are all configurable, with SVG and PNG downloads and a printable poster builder.
Can I use my own fonts?
You can choose from a curated set of Google Fonts for the guest page, matched to your brand's tone — serif, sans, or something more editorial.

Pricing

Is there a free plan?
Yes — Free includes one queue and up to 50 joins a day, with a small Queued badge on the guest page. No card required to start.
What's the difference between Pro and Business?
Pro (£29/mo) covers unlimited queues, custom branding, menus & adverts, analytics and team members, with no badge. Business (£79/mo) adds multi-location support, kiosk & display modes, CSV export and priority support.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade whenever you like from your account's billing settings. Changes take effect from your next billing cycle.
What happens if I go over 50 joins a day on the free plan?
New joins are paused for the rest of your local day once you hit the limit; guests already in the queue aren't affected. Upgrading to Pro removes the limit immediately.
Do you offer a discount for multiple locations?
Business is built for multi-location organisations under one account. Get in touch at [email protected] if you're weighing options for a larger estate.
Do you take a cut of anything we charge guests?
No — Queued charges a flat monthly subscription. We don't process payments between you and your guests, and we don't take a percentage of anything.

Schools & clubs

Is Queued Clubs the same plan as Free, Pro or Business?
No — Queued Clubs (For Schools, £9.99/month) is a separate product for school and club sports sign-ups, not the walk-in waitlist. It has its own 14-day free trial and its own subscription; you can run both if you need a walk-in queue and a club. See Queued Clubs for details.
Is Queued Clubs only for padel?
No — any sport, any school or club, any country. Padel, tennis, football, netball, whatever your school runs: you set the sport, the games and how places are given out.
Does Queued take a cut of what parents pay?
No — Queued doesn't process payments for club sign-ups. You paste your own payment link (your school office's payment page, a bank transfer note, whatever you already use) and parents pay you directly.

Data & privacy

Where is our data stored?
Data is hosted on AWS in the EU (London/Ireland), behind Cloudflare. See our Privacy Policy for full details on sub-processors and retention.
How long do you keep guest ticket data?
Ticket records are kept for 90 days, after which they're anonymised. Aggregate, anonymised statistics may be retained longer for your own analytics.
Is Queued GDPR-compliant?
Queued is built with UK GDPR in mind: the organiser is the data controller for their guest data, and Queued acts as processor. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of roles, sub-processors, and your rights.
Who can I contact about a data request?
Email [email protected] for any privacy request — access, correction, deletion, or a general question about how your data is handled.
