This explains the cookies and similar technologies Queued uses across queu-ed.com and the app. Essential cookies are always on; analytics and advertising cookies only run once you've given consent through our cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time.
How consent works here
On your first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies, and lets you choose analytics and advertising separately. We use Google's Consent Mode v2, which means Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel stay dormant (no cookies set, no data sent) until you actively consent. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer.
Essential cookies (always on)
These are necessary for the site and app to function and can't be switched off. They don't require consent under UK law because they're strictly necessary for a service you've requested.

Analytics cookies (on with consent)
Used to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it — pages visited, rough location (country/region level), device type, and how people arrive at the site. We don't use analytics to identify individual guests joining a queue.

Advertising cookies (on with consent)
Used to measure the performance of our own marketing campaigns (for example, whether someone who clicked a Google or Meta ad went on to sign up) and, where enabled, to show relevant ads. These only load after consent.

Cookies on guest pages
A guest joining a queue via /q/{slug} gets a session tied to their ticket token in the page URL, not a tracking cookie — this is what lets their status page work without an account. Guest pages don't load analytics or advertising cookies by default. If an organiser has enabled analytics on their own guest pages (a feature that may not be available on all plans), that organiser is responsible for their own consent disclosures to guests.
Managing cookies in your browser
Alongside our own consent banner, you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect essential functionality like staying signed in.
